Docklands Yacht Club overlooks Victoria Harbour with sweeping views of the Melbourne City skyline and the ever changing Docklands precinct. From January 2016, sailing will take place from the 60 metre pontoon at our new premises - the Community Boating Hub, 912 Collins Street, adacent to the Library at Dock Square. Community Sailing days are normally the second and fourth Sunday of each month year round from 11am but are subject to change (check Calendar page for more details). Everyone is welcome. We supply the boats, lifejackets and instruction.
Latest Short Course results
Six more races have been completed in the annual Docklands Yacht Club Short Course series. The event was rescheduled from February 19th due to poor weather.
The delay in racing boded well for Hansa 303 leader Christine Elliott, as she would have been interstate. Winning two of the day's races, she maintains a seemingly unbeatable lead in this year's series with only two rounds remaining.
The day's other four races were won by Commodore Russell Phillips, who has competed in both the Liberty and 303 divisions in this year's series.
Interest in this year's event is between 2nd and 3rd place, where Beck West is now only one point ahead of David Hales, who sailing has improved over the summer.
Next weekend's racing will see the final chance to practice before our sailors head to Geelong for the Asia Pacific Championships over Easter.
