SWQ Thunder, Gold Coast City and Sunshine Coast FC are the latest PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues clubs to discover their first opponents in Westfield FFA Cup 2016.

The three clubs enter the national knock-out competition in Preliminary Round 5 – with all three vying to be the last club remaining from their respective qualifying zones.

Gold Coast City will begin their quest for a third consecutive qualification to the national Round of 32 when they face Surfers Paradise Apollo in the Gold Coast Zone.

Apollo compete in the third-tier BLK Premier League and advanced courtesy of a 4-2 win over Magic United to set-up their first competitive tie against PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues opposition.

SWQ Thunder will face third-tier Toowoomba Premier League club Willowburn for a second time in three years in the South West Queensland Zone after Willowburn defeated Gatton Redback 3-1.

Sunshine Coast FC are seeking a first ever win in the Westfield FFA Cup when they meet Woombye Snakes in the Sunshine Coast Zone.

The defending third-tier McDonald’s Premier Men side defeated Kawana Soccer Club 2-1 to secure their maiden competitive match against a PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues club.

The winner of the Preliminary Round 5 South West Queensland zone will face the winter of Preliminary Round 5 Gold Coast Zone.

While the winner of Preliminary Round 5 Sunshine Coast zone will advance to meet the winner of Preliminary Round 5 Wide Bay Zone match between United Park Eagles and Kawaungan Sandy Straits.

The winners of those Preliminary Round 6 ties will then battle for one of four places for Queensland clubs in the Westfield FFA Cup 2016 Round of 32, which marks the entry point for the ten professional Hyundai A-League clubs. 

Dates, venues and kick-off times for the three Preliminary Round 5 fixtures are yet to be officially confirmed.
