A Christopher O’Hare hat-trick has helped FNQ Heat to a 5-0 demolition over regional rivals Northern Fury at Townsville Sports Reserve.

Heat stormed to an near insurmountable four goal advantage at half-time as Joshua Pin’s opener was complemented by captain Jamie Carroll and O’Hare’s first two goals.

O’Hare then iced the result just before the hour as he notched his first hat-trick of the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2016 season.

The result sees Heat maintain a three point lead atop the league and sees Heat complete a hat-trick of derby wins over Fury this season - the league double adding to their triumph in the Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds.

For the bottom-placed Fury, the result halts a recent run of two draws and means they remain without a league win after 16 matches this year.

What They Said

“I know that we’ve got goals in us and I know that we have a lot of players that can score goals. We scored five today and created eight or nine good chances. Teams are going to have to score a few to beat us but the clean sheet really puts the icing on the cake.” – Tim Campbell, FNQ FC Heat coach

“They are a quality side. You’ve seen the football that they played tonight. We tried to work on a few things where we could step up but we never done it tonight. They punished us - they came through us, they came over the top of us and made us work. Some of the goals they scored tonight were quality.“ – Ian Ferguson, Northern Fury FC coach
