Moreton Bay United have bolstered their attacking options with the addition of Brisbane Premier League stand-out Alex Janovsky to their 2016 squad.

Janovsky, who played for Lions FC in 2015 and earned selection in Football Brisbane's Select Team , becomes the Jets' second confirmed signing as they prepare to defend their PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Premiership-Championship double.

The 24-year-old was a constant presence in Lions FC's impressive 2015 campaign - helping his side to the third tier Brisbane Premier League Premiership title and shining in a highly publicised run to the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16.

He delivered eight goals in 28 appearances in all competitions last season, but has set his sights on a higher return in front of goal in 2016.

“I want to score 10 goals. Don’t think I’ve done that in senior football and finish top four and make the finals,” Janovsky explained.

Janovsky is the second Lions FC Premiership winner to be announced by a PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club for 2016 - with confirmation last week that Shaun Carlos has joined Brisbane Strikers.

Like his former teammate, Janovsky said he was excited about the opportunity and challenge of playing in the national second tier for the first time.

“I had no hard feelings with Lions. I really enjoyed last season, we did well in the FFA Cup but I wanted to experience the NPL and the exposure the league brings,” he explained.

“I couldn’t wait two years (to play in the NPL) so I’ve come to a good club, which had success last year and hopefully can replicate that next year.

Jets Technical Director Adam Piddick said Janovsky would complement a number of players he expects to return for next year’s campaign - and is a like-for-like replacement for Daniel Clark, who departed Jets for PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria club Hume City midway through 2015.

“Alex is a very, very good midfielder. His ability to get on the ball, create things and score goals is something that we are looking to add to our game,” Piddick said.

“In those tight games when you need individuals to step up, I see him as one of them,” he concluded.
