The PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2016 Finals Series will return to Queensland this September, it has been confirmed.

Queensland will host Capital Football in the end-of season PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series, which pits the premier clubs from each Member Federation against each other in a seven-match elimination format to determine the competition’s national Champion.

The Elimination Final fixture was determined during today’s LIVE Draw for the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2016 Finals Series, conducted by Football Federation Australia.

The winner of the Elimination Final will then advance to face the winner of the Elimination Final between the Premiers of PlayStation 4 NPL New South Wales and PlayStation 4 NPL South Australia.

The other half of the draw will see the Premiers of PlayStation 4 NPL Western Australia and PlayStation 4 NPL Tasmania clash, while PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria and PlayStation 4 NPL Northern NSW meet in the other match.

Watch how the draw unfolded below…

The fixture marks just the third time Queensland has hosted a PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series match in the competition’s four-year history and the first time Queensland has met Capital Football in the competition.

Queensland will be represented by the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland 2016 Premiers in the end-of-season showpiece.

Cairns-based FNQ Heat currently lead the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland league table with five rounds remaining, while Brisbane Strikers, Gold Coast City and Brisbane City round out a tightly contested top four.

The PlayStation 4 NPL Capital Football competition is also neck-and-neck in their Premiership race with just a single point separating Cooma FC, Canberra Olympic, Belconnen United and Canberra FC.

No Queensland club has won the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Finals Series in its three previous instalments, while Capital Football clubs have fallen at the first hurdle in prior years.

All Elimination Final matches will be played on the weekend of September 17-18, 2016.

Full fixture details for the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Elimination Final will be announced at a later date.
