Silver Boot Clubs Confirmed

Seven PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland clubs will prepare for the 2016 Men’s campaign in the BLK Silver Boot pre-season tournament.

Capital city clubs Brisbane City, Brisbane Strikers and Olympic FC will be joined by Ipswich’s Western Pride, Gold Coast’s Palm Beach SC, Toowoomba’s SWQ Thunder and bayside outfit Redlands United in the annual pre-season tournament hosted by Brisbane Premier League club Lions FC.

The remainder of the competing sixteen clubs will consist of community clubs from the third tier Brisbane Premier League, including defending Silver Boot holders Eastern Suburbs FC.

The tournament will be contested in a round-robin, four-group format commencing on January 19 that sees each team play a minimum of three matches. The top team from each group progresses to the knock-out stage.

The final is scheduled for February 14, with prizemoney of $5000 on offer to the winning club from a total $7500 total prize pool.

The groups will be drawn and match schedule revealed on January 9 at Lions FC clubhouse.

The BLK Silver Boot is the longest running pre-season competition in Queensland football.
