Van Dam to captain BDAFL Representative Team
Terrigal Avoca veteran, Peter Van Dam has been named captain of the Hunter Haval Black Diamond AFL Representative team that will play AFL Sydney at Adelaide St Oval on Saturday. Courageous Newcastle City midfielder Aaron Seen was named vice captain.
Van Dam captained the team to victory over Farrer FNL last year and retained the position despite being a late call up to the squad. It will be a record 12th appearance in the black, teal and white guernsey for Van Dam.
Whilst Van Dam will be playing for a 12th time, eleven players will be representing the BDAFL for the first time following the announcement of the final squad tonight.
The BDAFL suffered a setback with star Terrigal Avoca midfielder, Kurt Fleming withdrawing after failing to recover from a knee injury suffered in the brusing Central Coast Derby last Friday night.
Warners Bay's Rob Schindler-Taylor, Nelson Bay's Chris Eddy and Killarney Vale's Tim Oosterhoff were named as emergencies.
