NEWS: Major sponsors secured for every Geelong Country Champs rep team

WITH less than four weeks left until the Geelong representative junior squads take on the state’s best at the much anticipated Victorian Country Championships in Gippsland, in a major boost for all nine junior rep teams, it has been announced that they all secured major sponsors!

GOFC Coaching, which is managing the seven Boys’ and two Girls’ select teams last week confirmed two more major sponsors had been secured.

“This now means that all nine teams have been supported,” said GOFC co-director Pete Bradley.

“We cannot stress enough how thankful we are to these sponsors and it means that the cost for each child is now no more than $185, which also includes a full playing kit worth $100 which each player gets to keep.

“We would also like to thank the sponsor (who wants to remain anonymous) that contributed to the sibling discounts. As a result of their donation, all families with two or more players have received a $15 per player donation,” he added.

The complete list of major sponsors per team is as follows:

BOYS:

U11N - Master Poultry Group

U11S - Cafe Moby, Torquay

U12 - Bank of Melbourne

U13 - Your Building Advisor

U14 - Loanlink (plus short sponsor Evra Photography)

U15 - Base Fire Protection

U16 - Piranha Snack Foods

GIRLS:

U12 - Your Building Advisor

U16 - Evra Photography

“We would also like to recognise the support we are getting from the local football community clubs who are providing training grounds for the squads. They include Barwon SC, Barwon Heads, Geelong Rangers and Surfside. Also, thanks to the local referee branch which has provided seven referees for the tournament as well as a couple of local teams who are playing the rep teams in friendly matches as part of their preparation. They include the Geelong SC U15s and Surf Coast’s U13s,” said Bradley.

To mark the country championships and to recognise the achievements of the talented crop of local youngsters representing their region, the Geelong region squads’ coaches will be holding a special shirt presentation.

“The details for this have yet to be confirmed but at this stage it is looking likely that it will be on Sunday June 4 from 4-6pm.,” concluded Pete Bradley from GOFC Coaching.
