GEELONG REGION FOOTBALL LEAGUE - WOMEN’S ROUND 13 PREVIEW

It will be a case of a mini-finals round of matches when top meets second and third takes on the fourth placed team in Round 13 of the Geelong Region Football League Women’s Division on Saturday.

Kardinia International College will be looking at increasing its five point lead at the top of the league standings, when it travels to Grovedale Reserve to tackle second placed Barwon SC.

Fresh from a 9-0 thumping of Surf Coast FC last weekend, the ‘Students’ will be full of confidence, with sharpshooters Stephanie Cameron and Sofia Harrop in scintillating form, having both scored a hat-trick against the Coasters.

Barwon, on the other hand, will be desperate to make amends after being on the wrong end of a 5-0 drubbing against the ever improving Deakin Ducks.

The Ducks, currently in 4th spot, will travel to Ocean Grove on Friday night to take on 3rd placed Surfside Waves. The game, to be staged at the Shell Road Reserve, will kick off at 7:30pm.

In other games, 7th placed Breakwater Eagles are at home to 6th placed Barwon Heads at the White Eagle Club at 3:00pm, 5th placed Geelong SC Red hosts 8th placed Surf Coast FC in the early game of a double header at Stead Park (1:00pm), while the battle of the celler dwellars sees 9th placed Geelong take on bottom side Corio Bay in the 3:00pm game.
