Do you want to play basketball?

KHBA has two programs running again this year for young people who would like to start playing basketball. Both these programs provide pathways into teams playing in local (domestic) and representative competitions. They will continue running in terms 3 and 4 and lead into the Kings tryouts for 2024 (in late November), where teams for both representative and domestic competitions will be formed.

Mini Kings (for players aged 6 to 9)

Mini Kings is back again and welcomes new and returning players. The final 6 weeks this term will be packed with super fun basketball activities for 6 to 9 year olds. Mini Kings is the ideal introduction to basketball for young players. Each session will be a combination of developing basketball skills and playing games that use these skills. Mini Kings will continue in terms 3 and 4 as well.

Time:   Wednesdays 3:45 to 5:00pm at Kingborough Sports Centre

Begins: Wednesday 31 May for 6 weeks

Cost:    $72

Kings Academy (for players 10 and above or more experienced younger players)

Do you play in a team in our afterschool Domestic Western Basketball Conference (WBC)?

Are you looking for somewhere to start playing basketball or not currently in a team but would like to train?

THEN, the KHBA Kings Academy is just for you:

• For age-groups U12, U14 Girls; and U12, U14, U16, U18 boys
• Weekly training sessions, finishing with a game/scrimmage
• Focus on developing individual skills and team play fundamentals
• Cost $50 for remainder of this term
• All sessions at Kingborough Sports Centre
• Starts as soon as possible and runs for 5 weeks this term, then will continue into terms 3 and 4
• Sessions will be one hour each between 4 and 6:30 pm – specific times will be decided as registrations are known

• As numbers become clearer we will add days and times and groups – we aim to keep groups small (around 15 per court)
