KHBA has two programs running again in term 3 for young people who would like to start playing basketball. Both these programs provide pathways into teams playing in local and representative competitions.

Mini Kings

Mini Kings is back for term 2 and welcomes new and returning players. 8 weeks of super fun Basketball activities for 6 to 9 year olds. Mini Kings is the ideal introduction to basketball for young players. Each session will be a combination of developing basketball skills and playing games that use these skills.

Time:   Mondays 3:45 to 5:00pm at Kingborough Sports Centre

Begins:Monday 1 August for 8 weeks

Cost:    $80

Ages:   6 to 9 years

Domestic Academy

Do you play in a team in our afterschool Domestic Western Basketball Conference (WBC)?

or

Are you looking for somewhere to start playing basketball or not currently in a team but would like to train?

THEN, the KHBA Kings Domestic Academy is just for you:

• For age-groups U12, U14 Girls; and U12, U14, U16, U18 boys
• Weekly training sessions, finishing with a game/scrimmage
• Focus on developing individual skills and team play fundamentals
• Cost $80
• All sessions at Kingborough Sports Centre
• Starts Monday 1 and Wednesday 3 August, and runs for 8 weeks
• Sessions will be between 4 and 6 pm – times will be decided when registrations are known:
  • Monday          U12/U14 Girls, U12/U14 Boys
  • Wed                U12/U14 Boys, U16/U18 Boys

(girls can join Wednesday if they can’t make Monday)

Note:

• If you don’t have a team yet this is a great starting point. It will help you get a team for our next competition starting early to mid September.
• If girls can’t make Monday they are welcome to join the boys group on Wednesday. If we have enough girls to start a separate group we will.
• As numbers become clearer we will adjust days and times and add groups where necessary – we aim to keep groups small (around 15 per court)

And Coming up ……..

Late August:   a fun, 2 week 3x3 competition as a lead in to our Spring Roster – a great way to get teams going for the roster or just have some fun playing with your mates.

September:     Western Basketball Conference Spring Roster (September to November)

• Enter a team (or as an individual and we will help you find a team).
• A great way for school teams to get some practice playing together before the Regional Schools Championships.

Regional School Championships:

• Primary – 22/23 and 29/30 October
• Secondary – 12/13 November

Mid November:          tryouts for Kings representative teams for 2023
