2022 Kings Junior Coaches

Expressions of Interest Now Open

Kingborough Huon Basketball Association (KHBA) is inviting Expressions of Interest for suitably qualified Coaches for their Boys and Girls representative teams. 

The Kings are the elite representative basketball program of KHBA. They form an important part of the Kings Performance Program framework; which involves the careful planning of player progression from U10 – NBL1. It forms an essential pathway for players and coaches to progress onto State and National junior programs and Senior Representative teams (NBL1).

Successful coach candidates should have a focus on the long-term learning and development of athletes as they prepare for the Tasmanian Junior Basketball League – Southern Conference (TJBLS).

HEAD COACH: EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE

• Provide a well-prepared, organised and positive learning environment appropriate to the athlete needs and coaching context integrating Kings technical direction.
• A positive role model for KHBA befitting the position of a representative team coach
• Supports the Kings Performance Program Pathway, including integration with State and National Pathways.
• U10, U12 & U14 Coaches: Inspire and motivate players to learn.
• U16 & U18 Coaches: Inspire and motivate players to want to continue to improve 
• Passion for "holistic" player development
• Promote the Values of the Kings Performance Program
• To work collegiately with fellow club, school and representative coaches in support of an inclusive Performance Program culture
