The name 'Golden Oldies' does not mean your team cannot play Netball to the best of its ability or to its strengths. The sides you are drawn against will reflect the level of play which you have told us your team prefers - ranging from 'competitive' to 'social' and anywhere in between. The difference is we don't publish the scores and there is no overall winner. Age is no barrier except you have to have reached 35 years to participate.

No matter where you are from, or what your ability is, the competition is open to players aged 35+. Friends, family and supporters are always encouraged to attend the week-long Festival, where the social functions are just as important as the games. While some players may enter ‘competitively’ we also have ‘social’ categories so the teams you play against will be of similar ability. Golden Oldies Festivals are all about fun and friendship, therefore we don’t publish the scores and there is no overall winner.

Held bi-annually, our previous Golden Oldies Netball Festivals have been held in Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Christchurch, Cook Islands, Fiji, Gold Coast, Singapore, Vancouver, Perth, Queenstown, San Diego and Hobart. In March 2020 the festival will be held in Hawaii.

The Golden Oldies World Netball Festival continues the philosophy of ‘Fun, Friendship and Fraternity’ which is a principal reason for the success of this sporting movement. It is another opportunity to travel to a different and exciting tourism, sporting and lifestyle destination for a week of sport with like-minded enthusiasts.

Golden Oldies has changed many people’s lives and has resulted in many travelling away from home for the first time and forming life long friendships.  After all, It's not about the goals you score, it's about the friends you make.
