Kurungaituku Tournament - Netball Rotorua Centre

Kurungaituku Tournament

The Kurangaituku Tournament started in 1933 with six teams on one weekend and has grown to become the biggest tournament to be held in New Zealand. Because it was held at the end of the season (late August/early September) many teams made it their end of year celebration.

To cater for all teams from North and South Islands and several from Australia, the tournament was divided into two weekends in 2013 with the first proving most popular. There were 203 teams for the first weekend and 145 for the second tournament, a total of 348 teams. 1995 was the first year that we were able to accept all entries and not ballot out 20-30 teams.  To cater for additional expansion the tournament is now held over three weekends.

Social and competitive grades welcome.

Grades on offer:
C, D, E, F = Week 1
A, B, C, D = Week 2

Senior A, Senior B, Junior A, Junior B, Intermediate A, Intermediate B = Week 3

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
