NetFest Gold Coast

"NetFest is all about doing what you love; playing netball, meeting new people, catching up with old mates and just having a ball on the Gold Coast.  It's so much fun, and an incredibly rewarding few days - don't miss it!"

NetFest is Netball Australia’s mass participation netball event, offering a choice of traditional (outdoor) or beach netball tournaments, supported by a range of social activities on the Gold Coast, Australia’s favourite holiday destination and the ideal location for netball’s ultimate end-of-season trip!

In September 2011, the inaugural NetFest attracted 62 teams.  Entries more than doubled to 134 teams the following year, and in 2013, a whopping 200 teams from around Australia and New Zealand descended on the Gold Coast for this huge celebration of netball, fun and friendship.  Dates for 2014 have yet to be set but will be announced early 2014.

Anyone over 18 can be a part of NetFest; you can be social or super competitive, male or female, a netball newbie or an aspiring Aussie Diamond. Your biggest decision will be choosing between traditional (outdoor) netball or the exciting new beach format.

NetFest is presented by Netball Australia, and proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism & Events Queensland.

Choice of two formats - Traditional Netball & Beach Netball
Each option involves a round robin tournament being played over three sessions (Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon), with teams playing off for final rankings on Sunday morning.
When completing their online entry, teams will be asked to select which competition stream they would like to play in.
Both the outdoor and beach competitions will be played in short, sharp formats. Exact length of matches will be dictated by the number of teams in each category, however as an indication:
Traditional netball: 2 x 10 minute halves
Beach netball: 2 x 5 minute halves
Note that all teams will play all other teams within their category.
