Vodafone Ghana Sponsors Ghana National U18 Mens Team
Vodafone Ghana has now be announced as the first official corporate sponsor for the Ghana National U18 Men's Team's participation in the qualification tournament to be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast from the 30th June - 7th July 2012. The amount of the sponsorship has not been disclosed but their support will cover the entire trip for the team in Ivory Coast.
Vodafone's support this year confirms their interest in supporting Ghana Basketball. Vodafone was amongst the leading sponsor's for the Ghana National Women's Team when they participated in the Women's Afrobasketball Championship in Bamako, Mali in 2011. Vodafone Ghana has alo pledged to support the U18 National Men's Team if they are ablel to qualify for the grand Finals to be held in Mozambique from the 16th - 25th August 2012, to qualify for World's U19 Mens Championship to be held in 2014 in Czech Republic.
The GBBA's ability to secure corporate sponsorship shows signs of the future for Ghana Basketball Association in the area of sponsorship. The Team will hopefully be playing its first continental exhibition games in the coming weeks which will also be used to activate the sponsorship deal with vodafone.
