Girls Bronze Medal
NSW Metro 53 def. SA Metro 50
In a low-scoring opening half, SA Metro struggled to find the bottom of the basket and while NSW Metro were able to gain an advantage, it was not a comfortable lead as they headed into the main break. SA Metro then began to find a rhythm, taking the third period 18-9 to tie things up on the back of Amy Cotton (16 points, 12 rebounds, five assists) and Kelsey Rees (eight points, 12 boards). It was anyone's game from that point and a three-pointer to Cotton gave SA Metro all the momentum but Kitty Henderson (eight points, five rebounds) stood in her way before Elees van der Maas proved the difference, knocking down a series of clutch shots to record 22 points on 4-7 three-point shooting as well as five steals. Olivia Rensaw made it a one-point game on SA Metro's final possession but van der Maas was cool from the free-throw line where she iced the bronze medal for her team.
