Albert Einstein mathematician types will still be making cases for the Tigers to make the finals (and Adelaide Crows too!) but let’s be real!

The Roosters have the attention of the Mid West world, toppling the high flying Hawks last week, Elliston are the real deal. Those who thought that the Hawks will coast to premiership honours in 2018 need to rethink. The Bulldogs have re emerged from harder times midseason, newer look young team but are playing well together in a club with high expectations and just know how to win. The Bombers convincingly took the points out west, gradually returning to full strength and the hard running play on game style that will threaten all in finals.

Wudinna United v Elliston at Wudinna

The surging, attacking confident Crimson Tide. A Rooster outfit keen to continue upward momentum in 2018. The Magpies at home, needing more scoring avenues but still winning plenty of the footy.

Elliston 2018 have followed the pattern of past successful Rooster teams, locking down their opposition, then burying teams with devastating bursts of high energy, high scoring periods of play at some point in all matches. Great to watch for the Rooster faithful, harder for opposition supporters, as they try to contemplate what hit them.

The Magpies are far more competitive than their ladder position shows, they hard win the footy, but probably turn it over too regularly for coach Lycett. They have been playing with plenty of heart in a challenging year. Remi North and Neil Seaman are standouts, prolific ball winners and leading those around them. Izaac Boylan has proved a big winner on trips home, Tyson Tree and Jarrad Tomney work so hard week in and week out. Youngsters Adam Jericho and Tom Dupree stocks are on the rise, good years both of them, young Ryan Lymn will be missed as he returns to college. Club/League/EP/ State superstar Ryan Du Bois out for a cameo last week , very welcome and his career restart is very much looked forward too! Mark North great in the air and on the ground, he and Lachy Kerr providing a target forward.

Roosters coach Grant Sleep will be very happy with their stocks and prospects. Missing from action last week included Del Miller, Jay Williams, Tom Rumbelow, Jordan Newton, (Ross Bascomb???) so cant help to consider that there continues to be further upside in the season. Good and in form players everywhere on the shores of Waterloo Bay! Joe Burgoyne and Otis Carter have been fantastic, both provide a real edge at the centre. Liam Newton silky skilled and tough, Peter Carter a big in in 2018, goal sense and contest winner, Gorn Tree continues his improvement, hard tackler and highly aware of what is going on around him. Brody Kenny and Andrew Mc Leod are enjoying the lift in playing staff around them and in turn driving the Roosters so regularly. Youngsters are quickly developing in Yarni Cobby, and Josh Nuske. Hurrell brothers always good.

Elliston play well at the larger Wudinna oval and could be too hot for the Maggies this week

Roosters 60 - 70
