This week Liam Fleming becomes only the 4th footballer to play 200 1st XVIII games for the Deniliwuin Rovers Football Netball Club .
Bones first senior game was in 1999 as a 17yr old and has played every season since except for 2001-2002, where he played for the Bushpigs while attending Uni in Wagga. In 2001 he was an integral part of their senior premiership side, starting on the wing and kicking 5 goals, and being christened with the nickname of “The Gazelle”.
In his long and distinguished career at DRFNC, amassing 342 club games he has been awarded many accolades, including 4ths r/u B&F 1995, 4ths B&F and leading goal kicker 1996,3rds. r/u B&F 1999, 1sts r/u B & F 2006 as well as being a member of our 2011 2nds premiership side and also 2013 where he was awarded the medal for best on ground.
Bones has also taken on the role as seconds coach this season.
When I asked him to describe himself in two words he replied “deceptively quick”!
Residing in Moama since 2005,Bones loyalty and commitment to the club is unsurpassed,rarley missing training or a social function and always contributing off field wherever needed.
