Whiti Te Ra and Wainuiomata Lions meet again

14TH & 15TH APRIL 2018
Huge thank you to Whiti Te Ra for being wonderful hosts to our Juniors at last weeks season opener....It was a great weekend with an awesome vibe around Otaki Domain.
This weekend sees last year’s Grand finalists meet again in what is no doubt going to be a tough match up between the two teams. Back to Back Premiers, Whiti Te Ra who have had an extra week off due to the shock default by one of our loyal clubs, the Randwick Kingfishers, will be hosting the Wainuiomata Lions who have already had a good taste of footy with a tough season opener against the Porirua Vikings at Ascot Park.
Unfortunately at this stage our Randwick whanau are having to bow out again this week to the Petone Panthers. Please know there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes at the proud Randwick club to try and get their team on the field for the 2018 season and we are all here to support where we can.
Te Aroha Eels host the St George Dragons who will be hunting for a win on the road after last week’s loss to the Victoria Hunters, but it'll be hard to beat a Te Aroha side who will be playing on their new number 1 field for the first time.
The Eels also play host to our Juniors this weekend along with our first Women’s game between hosts, Te Aroha and the Titahi Bay Marlins, set to kick off at 2:30pm on Sunday.
Premier Two will see two of the season opener winners, Titahi Bay Marlins and Trentham take each other on out at the Marlins domain, again this is set to be a tough match between the two and no doubt there will be some passion behind the defence of the teams as the play for the Inaugural Stewart - Risati Shield. "Battle of the Haywards"
We also have the battle of the big cats this weekend, with the Tigers of Upper Hutt at home to the Lions Premier Reserves from over the Wainuiomata hill.
Just another reminder “Be a Sport, Just Support” that means support everyone in our game, not just the players, but our coaches, managers, supporters, refs…EVERYONE
Looking forward to catching up with some of you this weekend.
