Applications now open for the Clive Palmer Junior Sport Education Scholarship
Queensland Nickel enjoys its commitment and association with junior sport and Townsville Basketball. It is therefore, very exciting to announce the third round of the Queensland Nickel “Clive Palmer Junior Sport Scholarship Award” to two chosen athletes from basketball.
The Clive Palmer Junior Sport Scholarship is designed to assist these two young athletes’ financially in their healthy lifestyle with educational support for the 2013 year.
The education scholarship will be offered to
- One Under 16 player (scholarship of $500)
- One Under 18 player (scholarship of $1,000)
Selection Criteria
Athletes must be 14 to 17 years of age and must be registered players with Townsville Basketball.
Club Contribution: volunteer time assisting with coaching and club activities
Credibility: Potential, desire and attitude to compete successfully at all games and trainings and creditability of attendance.
Respect: Potential to be socially compatible and display a sense of ‘team ethics’. Respect and behaviour to peers, coaches, team, referees
Accountability: Demonstrated desire to succeed not only in basketball, but in education and personal life. Accountability, demonstrated leadership, advocates teamwork
