FRATERNITY CLUB CUP SEMI FINALS

The Fraternity Club Cup Semi Finals are on tonight at JJ Kelly Park and Macedonia Park.

In the District League Conference, Coniston have cruised through their group and will start as favorites against an improved Balgownie side that surprised many by topping what was a difficult group. In the other District League match, Shell Cove too eased their way to the semi finals despite a last round hiccup and face a Helensburgh side that is capable of causing them headaches.

Two facinating games which could go either way in the playoffs.

In the Premier League Conference, Bulli got off to a shaky start but still managed to top their group courtesy of a 3-1 win over Wollongong Olympic last weekend. They look good again this year and will almost certainly feature in the title race again. Their opponents Port Kembla, lost to Tarrawanna in Round 3 but progressed as the best second placed team courtesy of two solid wins over Fernhill and Picton respectively. It is a repeat of last years Premier League Grand Final. Whilst one expects Bulli to progress to the final, we have learned to not write off Port Kembla in these big matches.

The other Premier League semi final sees another title favourite in Wollongong United who coincidently are gunning for their third straight Frat Cup success. They have quality all over the park and will start favorites over Tarrawanna who qualified for the Semis after topping their group with a 100% record.

Tarrawanna seem to have the wood over Wollongong United with the Blueys coming out on top in 3 of the last four meetings. Don't be surprised if this game goes to penalties.

Remember, your purchased ticket today will get you into both grounds (should you wish to change venues).

The Final(s) will be played on Sunday 11 March at Memorial Park with a 10.30am and 12.30pm kick off respectively.
