**REMINDER** Referee Duty Rules
This is an reminder to ALL TEAMS who are playing in our Mixed (Tuesday) and Mens/Womens (Thursday) local competitions in relation to team requirements for referee duties.
As per page 6 of the City of Orange Touch Association Senior Competition Rules, which talks about referee duties, it states:
"Teams must use a registered player within their team to complete their duty refereeing requirements"
This means that teams ARE NOT PERMITTED to use individuals outside of their team to complete referee duties. Teams cannot use Orange Touch referees to complete referee duties on their behalf, unless that referee is a registered player in that team.
This rule is a part of our conditions of entry, which teams agreed to when registering and please be aware that this rule will be STRICTLY ENFORCED.
The process for referee duty is to sign the referee duty sheet prior to your allocated referee duty timeslot and collect your scorecard. Following your referee duty, you must write BOTH your full name and team name on the scorecard (next to the referee 1 section on the card) and hand the scorecard to committee members on shed duty.
Our club understands that there will be elected duty referees who are not confident in officiating a game by themselves. If this is you, please speak to our referee coordinator and/or committee members on shed duty when you come and sign on for referee duty. We will attempt to partner you with another referee where possible.
Please note that this is not a new rule, but as mentioned above, it will be strictly enforced effective immediately.
