Important Change to our Mini (U6-U9) Competition
After observing the first two weeks of our mini touch competition (Under 6's to Under 9's), we have found it is not beneficial to have our junior referees officiate these games, due to the mini team coaches being the main facilitators of the running of these games (getting teams on-side, informing players of the touch count etc).
As such, our club, in the best interest of mini players, coaches and referees have decided that as of this Wednesday 25 October, all mini touch competition matches will be refereed and faciliated by the mini team coaches.
Please note that due to this change taking effect as of this week, could mini team coaches please come to the touch shed prior to their game to collect the match card and ball. Also note, there will be no referee payments for these games.
Our club will be running two FREE referee sessions, which are targeted at any junior players wanting to referee and any newcomers to touch football, however anyone is welcome to attend.
These sessions will be held on Wednesday 1st and Wednesday 8th November from 4pm to 4.45pm at Waratahs Sports Ground. All people attending are asked to bring along a whistle.
Please note that there is no official referee accreditation linked to these referee development sessions, it is simply a way for junior/newcomers to learn how to officiate and learn about the rules of touch football.
Any questions about the change to our mini touch competition, or the upcoming free referee sessions can be directed to our club by email firstname.lastname@example.org
