West Australian Off to Fulfil Lacrosse Dream

West Australian Lacrosse Champion Ashtyn Hiron, of Leeming, will depart Perth at the end of the month bound for Jacksonville, USA, to commence a four year Lacrosse scholarship opportunity.

The 18 year old currently plays A grade at the Phoenix Lacrosse Club and has already had masses of success in her short lived sporting career.

Hiron is currently a member of the 2015 Australian Under 19 Women’s squad. If selected she will head to her second Under 19 FIL World Championship next year. At the age of 15 Hiron represented Australia in the 2011 Under Australian Team that medaled silver at the Championship.

In 2012 August Hiron travelled to the US to attend the Maximum Exposure Rising Sophomore Lacrosse Recruitment Camp in August which is where she was scouted by Jacksonville University. At this camp 350 young women were there to be drafted and Hiron was name in the American All-stars team at the camp.

It’s really no surprise that Hiron is such a natural and gifted lacrosse player. Both her parents are high achieving lacrosse players with mum Glenda, playing for Australia and Dad John, playing for and coaching Australia in World Championships. John is now a coach at the Council Rock South High School in the US.

I cant wait to get over there and meet my team and get into it. America has such a high level of competition and so many more lacrosse opportunities. It is my dream more than anything to play college lacrosse.”

Ashtyn Hiron will certainly be an athlete to watch in coming years
