Canterbury Representative Basketball Handbook and Calendar

The Canterbury Basketball Association and North Canterbury Basketball in partnership with the Canterbury Basketball Academy are pleased to announce the 2017 U15, U17 & U19 representative calendar.

The rep season begins with Metro (CBA) & NC trials on April 2nd.  The trials will be used to select teams to represent Metro and North Canterbury at the Canterbury Regional Selection Tournament in Christchurch on April 26th & 27th.

From the regional selection tournament the A & B National Qualifying teams will be selected to represent Waitaha (Metro & NC combined teams) at the National Qualifying games on May 19th & 26th in Ashburton and the Mainland development teams will be selected to represent Metro & NC at the U15 & U17 Mainland Tournaments.

After the National Qualifying games depending on results the teams who qualify for nationals will be re-selected including the possibility of loaning players from Mid Canterbury & South Canterbury to represent Waitaha at the Basketball New Zealand National Tournaments.

To help prepare our players for the high school & representative seasons the Canterbury Basketball Academy will be selecting invitational teams at the U15, U17 & U19 age groups to attend the North Harbour Easter Tournament.  These North Harbour Easter teams are not indicative of the Waitaha national teams and will be invitational of nature to help with player development.  The selection tournament will be the process for being selected to a Waitaha team for Nationals.  Invitations for the North Harbour Easter Tournament will be sent out next week (March 6-12).  Lastly information regarding U13 representative trials and Mainland coaching appointments will be made available by Metro and NC at a later date.
