Round 13 Preview - WOMEN

Norwood Flames (11-1, 1st) v Forestville Eagles (10-2, 2nd)

In the match of the round, the Eagles will be chasing a seventh straight victory when they visit the Flames at Mars.

In what was a possible preview of a potential finals matchup, the Eagles flew past Sturt in Round 12 remaining within a solitary game of the Flames.

After finally losing in Round 11 the Flames bounced back last round against South.

Last time they met, the Flames burned the Eagles 92-66.

North Adelaide Rockets (9-3, 3rd) v South Adelaide Panthers (1-11, 9th)

With the top two teams facing off, the Rockets can gain some ground on the ladders leaders if they can overcome the Panthers at Hillcrest.

In Round 12, the Rockets were able to hold off the in-form Tigers and they are up to third as a result.

The Panthers were beaten by the Flames last round which was their 11th loss from 12 games.

Last time they met, the Rockets soared past the Panthers 77-52.

Sturt Sabres (7-5, 6th) v West Adelaide Bearcats (7-5, 5th)

The Sabres and Bearcats have had a number of tense battles in recent years and with only percentage separating them on the ladder, this week’s clash at Pasadena is another crucial one.

Following a big loss to Forestville in Round 12, the Sabres have slipped out of the top five.

Meanwhile, the Bearcats thrashed the Lions stealing the Sabres’ spot.

Last time they met, it was the Sabres who got up 72-59.

Woodville Warriors (5-7, 7th) v Central District Lions (0-12, 10th)

The Warriors cannot afford a loss to the winless Lions in this week’s match at St Clair.

The Warriors secured an important win against Eastern last round leaving them two games out of the top five.

The Lions’ most recent defeat was to West.

Last time they met, the Warriors doubled the Lions’ score 80-40.

Eastern Mavericks (2-10, 8th) v Southern Tigers (8-4, 4th)

The Tigers will try to bounce back from their slender loss to North when they visit the Mavericks at Adelaide Hills.

The Tigers required just five more points to make it two wins over last year’s Grand Finalists in the space of two games.

The Mavericks’ loss to Woodville means they are five games back of the top five.

Last time they met, the Tigers roared past the Mavericks 82-69.
