NORTH Adelaide kept pressure on the ladder-leading Eastern Mavericks with a hard-fought 60-50 win over Sturt at Pasadena.
The Rockets surged to a 14-point lead by half-time and withstood an improved performance from the Sabres in the second 20-minutes to stay on Eastern’s heels with a 2-1 record.
Opal Mader, Norrisha Victrum and Tayla Corrigan were standouts for North.
Mader finished with 19 points and three rebounds, Victim 18 points and six boards, while Corrigan scored 12 points and finished with seven rebounds.
Sturt crashed to its second-straight loss as it shot just 26 per cent (18-of-67) from the field.
Captain Caroline Burgess led from the front with a team-high 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Sarah Elsworthy chipped in with 11 points.
