The Sherbrooke Suns Senior Men’s team are excited to announce enigmatic point guard Eric Miraflores will join the squad as part of a major roster revamp heading into season 2018.
Eric’s experience and proven ability in the Big V Competition over a number of years, along with some personal challenges in the past two seasons are a perfect combination to help drive the program forward.
“I am grateful that Eric has chosen to start fresh with us. He’s a guy who has won a BIG V championship in 2012, been a league all-star, tested himself at higher divisions and while being 34 years of age still feel he can develop his game, but above all else he’s motivated to help our club progress. This is a guy who while unorthodox can put points on the board in a hurry and really values defensive assignments with his ability to create havoc in the backcourt,” said Suns Coach Ryan Rogers.
Eric is coming off a disjointed 2017 Big V season where he featured in just 11 games for Western Port in Division 1 averaging a modest 7 points per game, 3 rebounds per game and 1.36 assists per game but given opportunity showed he was more than capable notching up 18,16 and 20 points in three of his games while shooting a super-efficient 48% from the field across the season in just over 15 minutes per outing.
“I’m really thirsty and thankful to be with Sherbrooke for 2018. It has been refreshing and a great atmosphere since I came down, and I can’t wait to be a part of the challenge that awaits with the massive changes at the club. I want to assist the club with having lots of kids at our games and a successful season on court.” – Eric Miraflores
