Sherbrooke SUNS confirms Big V Coaches for 2017 season
Sherbrooke SUNS' appointed youth league women's coach, Paul Traynor, has had to resign due to personal commitments. We thank Paul for all his work developing these young women in basketball over the last few years and wish him well. Paul will remain involved with the club but just cannot commit to the time needed for the important role of Youth League Coach
As in 2016, Sherbrooke was originally keen to put a Division 2 women's team on the court as well as the Youth League team but Big V in its wisdom has denied this opportunity. The Sherbrooke Board of management is delighted to announce that Gary Jones (Div 2 coach 2016) has agreed to coach our Youth League women's side in 2017. Congratulations Gary.
On the Men's side of the equation, Sherbrooke has appointed Brent Andrews as coach of the Youth League Championship Men's team. Brent is taking over from Rob Roberts who was originally appointed our Division 1 coach, but again, Big V did not agree with our request and would only offer us a spot in Division 2 Men. Rob has agreed to stay on as senior men's coach for the 2017 season.
We welcome Brent and thank Rob for his loyalty to the club and players, not to mention undying determination.
Sherbrooke SUNS looks to a successful 2017 season.
