Tigers primed for TAFL upset

THE Hermit Park Tigers believe home-ground advantage will count for little when they clash with the unbeaten Thuringowa Bulldogs in tomorrow's RMS Townsville Australian rules grand final.

The Tigers have held two training sessions at the Riverway venue this week in their quest to score an upset victory over the Bulldogs and achieve their first premiership since 2008.

Thuringowa have enjoyed an unprecedented run of dominance this year and one more game will seal the club's third consecutive A-grade title.

Tigers coach Barry Gibson said his players had completed the necessary preparations to give Thuringowa a genuine fight come tomorrow afternoon.

"There's not a huge difference playing at Tony Ireland, but training there just allows us to get used to the bigger spaces," he said.
