Eagles Youth League Round 1 Review
On Saturday 16th March, our Greensborough Plaza Youth Eagles Womens & Thornbury Car Care Youth Eagles Men played their first Home games of the 2019 Youth Championship season @ Diamond Valley Sports & Fitness Centre.
Greensborough Plaza Youth Eagles Women v.s Bendigo Braves
FINAL SCORE: Eagles 48, Bendigo 56
Our first game of the season saw a painful 6 point loss for our Greensborough Plaza Youth Women against the Bendigo Braves. All the girls made a valued contribution to the score of 48, with a stand out performance by Brianna Gregory with 14 points & 8 rebounds. Despite a great comeback in the dying minutes of the game, we were unable to get the win. We look forward to see what they can bring when they take on Hawthorn Magic in what will be another home double header for the Eagles on Saturday March 23 at Diamond Valley Sports & Fitness Centre.
Thornbury Car Care Youth Eagles Men v.s Sherbrooke Suns
FINAL SCORE: Eagles 95, Sherbrooke 69
Our Youth Mens team sponsored by Thornbury Car Care had a fantastic win, where they lead from the get go. Our players were unstoppable in offense and defence, with major contributors being Luke Liesegang and Matthew Baggio with 18 and 17 points respectively. We look forward to what will be a great season with a team that shows leadership and teamwork so seamlessly during the game. The final score was 95 to 69.
