MEG JOINS TEAMMATES IN CELEBRATING GAMES MILESTONES

On Saturday the 30th of June Meg Crupi took to the court for our SEABL women, and registered her 100th Senior Championship Game for the Eagles. Meg, who plays in both our SEABL Women and BigV Youth League teams, began her Senior Championship career back in 2013.

“I don’t remember much from that game other than that I was so nervous and excited being a little 16 year old. I didn’t think that game would be the beginning of my senior career and many amazing memories!” recalled Meg.

“Other than all these senior games as well as a VYCW final, my favourite game and best memory at DV would be my u16 VC grand final. Regardless of a silver medal, it was such a great experience with some of my best mates.”

Meg has a had a long association with Diamond Valley having come through the Junior Representative programs as a player here and now also involved in the coaching ranks.

“DV means a lot more to me than just basketball! Some of my greatest memories and friends have been made at DV. Playing for DV will always mean a lot to me, but being able to coach my own team at the same time is what’s most special. Seeing all 10 girls improve weekly is most rewarding.”

With both the SEABL Woman and Youth League Women’s teams both right in the hunt for finals action this season, Meg is excited at what lies ahead over the next couple of months.

“It’s so exciting to be part of both groups this season, especially with the way both teams are finishing off the season. I’m looking forward to the success that both teams will encounter this post season.”

And what does the future hold for this talented basketballer?

“My future ambitions in basketball are to experience as much as I can. Right now I am focusing on finishing off this season well with two extremely talented groups before looking into the future. But hopefully will see everyone at a HOME final this year!!!

This season has also seen a number of players in our SEABL and Youth League squads register milestones. They have been:
