O' NEILL REACHES 50 GAME MILESTONE
Welcome to everyone for what is our last home game for the season against Michael’s Nunawading Spectres & your very own Diamond Valley Eagles!
Both teams have just come off losses & whereas the Spectres are preparing for Finals we are unfortunately looking at the end of the season.
The first time we played Nunawading they beat us comfortably on their home court with Dickson pouring in 18 points backed up by Withers with 14 & Fletcher with 11. We had a fairly even spread over all with everyone scoring & getting a rebound.
The Spectres are currently sitting 3rd in our pool & are the raging favourites for this game. It will be an interesting battle when you have a side that is trying to fine tune its game for finals & a team that can’t make finals, but wants to try & finish the season on a positive note.
Nunawading’s run and carry got them the W last time & we will need to stop that if we are even a chance to get the W. We will need to ensure we don’t let their shooters get us like they did last time but at the same time we will need to concentrate on the small things to help us stay in the hunt.
As usual, rebounding, transition defence and execution in the half court offensively, will be areas we will need to excel in which were the things that let us down last weekend but with some extra effort we know what we can achieve.
To ALL the people behind the scenes that have helped get us on the court I would like to express my gratitude and know that the group will do you proud every time they take the court.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters, Parents & the DV front office for all their hard work & dedication without your efforts we wouldn’t be where we are today so a BIG thanks for everything you have done for me but more importantly the group this year!
Sit back & enjoy, which I have no doubt, will be a great game.
