Youth League 2020 Women’s Head Coach

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified candidates for the Youth League Women’s Head Coach for the 2020 season.

Reports to: DVBA management and Senior Championship Committee

 

Diamond Valley Basketball Association is one of the biggest basketball organisations north of Melbourne. Based in Greensborough, it sees more than 6,000 members participate in the game of basketball, each day of the week. At Diamond Valley, we offer an excellent playing, coaching and refereeing pathways.

Working closely with the DVBA’s management team and Senior Championship Committee, the successful applicant will be responsible for selecting, developing, managing and providing clear direction to our Youth League Women’s team and senior women’s program during season 2020.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Exceptional basketball knowledge, including previous experience as head or assistant coach at senior championship level.
• Experience in managing team budgets for recruitment.
• Recruitment experience in selecting players from Australian and international programs.
• Ability to work within and uphold DVBA cultural standards.

• Ability to recruit players who align with DVBA’s values.
• Ability to develop and manage coaching staff and player group.
• Excellent communication skills within a coaching and player development environment.
• Ability to foster an elite mindset and create a professional culture.
• Well organised, creative, adaptable and willing to work within the structure of the wider association.

• A desire to build a program that allows development opportunities for promising junior Eagles players.
• Passionate and skillful motivator and leader.
• Passionate about creating better players and coaches.

The successful candidate will possess a current drivers licence, Working with Children’s check and possess knowledge of basketball’s elite coach and player pathway. Minimum Basketball Australia NCAS level 2 or equivalent preferred. The role is for an experienced basketball coach who will be able to demonstrate the ability to continue to drive development within the DVBA.
