Eagles Youth League Round 2 Review
On Saturday 23rd March, our Greensborough Plaza Youth Eagles Womens & Thornbury Car Care Youth Eagles Men played Round 2 of the 2019 Youth Championship season against Hawthorn Magic at Home.
Greensborough Plaza Youth Eagles Women v.s Hawthorn Magic

A dominant defensive display by the Greensborough Plaza Youth Women saw them record a great 22 point win against the Hawthorn Magic. A third quarter lockdown kept the Magic to 4 points and translated to some very sharp offensive play by the team. Playing a very dedicated and unselfish style of play generated some great stat lines with Anna Burrows and Jade Dunn impressive with 17 points a piece. Brianna Gregory-Johnson was dominant with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Thornbury Car Care Youth Eagles Men v.s Hawthorn Magic

The Thornbury Car Care youth Men followed up to make sure it was a clean sweep by the Eagles on Saturday night, beating the Magic by 13 points. A very close first quarter saw only one point difference between the teams at the first interval. The Eagles second quarter saw some great team defense holding the Magic to 10 points. A very committed team performance saw 5 players record double figures in points. Ben Barlow lead the way with a sharp shooting 19 points
