The DVBA are proud to have conducted yet another series of Northern Basketball Camps which featured rising numbers and the high quality of instruction and teaching camp goers have come to expect. Over 400 athletes took the opportunity to take their game to the next level! 

This past school holidays we have conducted 8 days of camps which have included 2 x 2 day camps, dedicated to educating and developing athletes from our domestic programs. The 2 camps combined allowed us the opportunity to help grow individual skill and knowledge into more than 180 local basketball players. We hosted many children who play in the Northern Junior Basketball League with Eltham North, Greenhills and St. Mary’s Basketball Clubs. Another camp included in this school break was the Diamond Valley Prospect Camp, which catered for children in the Under 12 and Under 14 age groups. The 1 day camp was a great opportunity for Junior Domestic players looking to break into our Junior Eagles program, allowing them to learn and work on the skills required to approach the next level of their basketball pathway. 

DVBA CEO Ross Wignell added, “It was great to break the 400 figure for attendance this past two weeks. It indicates to me that the coaching we are regularly producing at these camps is being well received and appreciated. It is fantastic to know that we have this number of players in our system wanting to become better basketballers.”  

We would like to thank all of our campers, coaches and just as importantly, the parents and guardians of our athletes in providing the opportunity for the Northern Camp’s Program to enhance the playing ability of the Junior Basketballers in attendance.
