Big V Wrap - Round 12

It was a challenging week for our senior teams this week with 3 games being decided by 3 points or less including a game that went to triple overtime.

Our SCW had a tough loss on Sunday to Eltham Wildcats, 74 – 58. It was great to see Kate Oliver back on the court and giving another great contribution with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Mikayla Pirini also had a solid night with 15 points and 5 assists. It was great to see Meg Crupi back on the court and will be a great addition to our Women’s team. This week our SCW will be playing two games, Saturday night they will be heading to Sunbury at 7pm and on Sunday will be playing at home at 12pm against the Waverley Falcons.

Our SCM had a great win against Werribee Saturday night, 79 – 67. Brandon Conley was unstoppable with 34 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks, which also managed to get Brandon on the Blue Carpet. Ray Sanders and Matt Reynolds also contributed with 12 points and 10 points repectively. The SCM will be playing the second game of our doubleheader on Sunday at 2pm against Waverley Falcons.

Our VYCW had an extremely competitive weekend. On Saturday night they lost to Dandenong 58 – 55. Sian Gillam finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, Chloe Tidswell also had a good performance with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals. On Sunday afternoon the girls travelled to Altona and lost in triple overtime 68 – 65. Chelsie Ford and Brodie Theodore had solid games with 11 rebounds each and 10 points and 9 points respectively. The VYCW are at home this Saturday night against Hawthorn 7:30pm.

Our VYCM lost by 3 points to Kilsyth on Saturday night. Daniel Girolami showed his worth Saturday night with 21 points including 5 3 pointers along with 7 rebounds, Dylan Dunstan also contributed with 11 points and 2 steals. It was great to see 1st gamer Andrew Giddens hit the court as well. The VYCM are away this Sunday at Dandenong 2pm.
