With the recent decision by Al McAughtry to accept the Head Coaching position with Nelson in New Zealand’s NBL, the decision has been made to arrange a Director of Coaching Panel for the 2017 Junior Championship season.
This move will see Cecil Exum step up his responsibilities; playing more of a role on the boy’s side of the program, he will still look to spend some time working with some of the coaches of our Girl’s teams.
Our Under 18 boys 1’s coach Rob Coulter and our Under 16 boys 2’s coach Anthony Allen will round out the leadership group to Head our Boy’s Coaches. Both Coaches have spent many years in our Junior Boy’s program and possess a great deal of knowledge to share with coaches they will work with and help.
The Director of Coaching Panel for the girls program will consist of Brendan Jackson, Kate Oliver and Hailie Eackles. Head Coaching our Vic Youth Champ Women’s team for the 2nd year, Brendan will be an asset to our Junior Girls teams.
Kate Oliver and our recent recruit from University of the Pacific USA, Hailie Eackles, both playing with our Senior Championship Women’s team this year will be able to share some great modern day teaching techniques with coaches and players they will work with.

I also think this will be great for our players looking to further develop their game”, DVBA’s CEO, Ross Wignell commented.
