MITCH LEE COMMITS TO THE EAGLES !
One of our final signings for season 2016 is key player from last season’sBig V Basketball State Championship Men, Mitch Lee.
A former Hurstbridge Hurricane, Mitch is the consummate ‘glue-guy’ that is solid across all areas and will give the team contributions in it’s needed areas on any given night. If that means scoring, he is capable of putting the ball in the basket – as he showed against Hume last year when he had 14 points off only 10 shot attempts. If it means rebounding – he had 6 rebounds in only 16 minutes of game time against McKinnon. If it means assists – he had 3+ assists in 8 games last season. Mitch will re-join the group and bring another versatile skill set to the perimeter play of the Eagles.
‘Mitch has been a part of our senior program for a number of years, from Youth League and now to State Champ Men and has always been a vocal leader and hard-nosed competitor. Mitch’s versatility will be a strength in our team this coming season and I think he has the ability to have some very productive games with the number of offensive threats we have in the group. I’m looking forward to continue being in the trenches with a competitor like Mitch.’
DVBA CEO, Ross Wignell adds ‘It is great to have Mitch back onboard for next season. Mitch is a competitor, old school hard-nosed defensive player, a heart-on-sleeve type of guy. Hopefully he will get his body right and will be good to go come mid - March. I’m looking forward to watching Mitch take the next step in his senior career’.
