MEG CRUPI RETURNS FOR SEASON 2016 !

Young gun, Meg Crupi will continue her emergence at the Big V Basketball State Championship level, returning to the Eagles for season 2016.From U12s to graduating through our U18 Juniors, and plying her trade with St Mary's Basketball Club locally, Meg Crupi has grown to embody what it is to be an Eagle.

She is well-rounded in her skill package, smart and competitive, as well as a demonstrated big game performer through the junior ranks, and in her time within the State Youth Championship Women team in years gone by – where she was nominated for Rookie of the Year.

In her first season exclusively with the State Championship Women in 2015, Meg averaged 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game, with her game time increasing towards the back end of the season – including a 12 point, 2 rebound and 1 steal effort against the WNBL player-laden Waverley Falcons.

Meg is one of many young DV athletes that has embraced the value of extra work needing to be done to elevate one’s game and push the edges of one’s potential as a Basketballer. This mindset shift and commitment has seen her game and knowledge expand to the level that she can now enter her second season in State Championship Women feeling fully equipped to contribute at the age of only 18.

‘Meg is the type of player every coach wants to coach and I’m excited to have her on board for 2016. Meg has matured as a player in leaps and bounds and I have no doubt her hard work and ability to score will cement herself as a regular contributor with us in 2016.’, Head Coach Dee Butler states.

DVBA CEO, Ross Wignell adds ‘Another of our Diamond Valley Eagles continues to come through our senior program – which is extremely pleasing. Meg is a fierce competitor and has developed a very good shot. I am looking forward to seeing her further develop her game with our Senior women’s team in 2016.’

As always, stay tuned … more to come !
