YOUNG EAGLES MAKING THEIR MARK

Former Diamond Valley Junior, Greg Page officially made his NBL debut a few weeks ago and in his first game on the Sunday afternoon with the Melbourne Tigers in the opening round clash with rivals Sydney Kings. Page, who had played well for the Tigers during the pre season practice games, saw minutes in the first half of the Tigers / Kings clash in Sydney.

He scored 2 pts (1-3), 4 Reb, 1Assist in 18.09 minutes of play. This is just another chapter in the book of his journey to play at the elite level of basketball in Australia. Page has had a long history of success at DiamondValley through juniors and the Yth League program also leading to State & National Junior selection along the way.

“Greg has done extremely well, with an outstanding work ethic; a drive to succeed that is rare among kids today and a willingness to push himself to be better each day both in the gym and on the court. Attending the Australian College Basketball has definitely helped his game and body and has prepared him for life as a senior player.

Playing for the Diamond Valley Yth team in 2012, Greg has certainly made the most of his opportunities and has earned a position as a development player with the Tigers NBL team under Chris Anstey & D Mac and will benefit enormously in that environment “ – Alan McAughtry
