Eagles Continue to Succeed
The 2013 U20 Victorian Women’s team that will represent Victoria at next month’s U20 Australian Junior Championship has been selected. We would like to congratulate our very own Jaclyn Smith and Carly Turner for making the team. The 2013 National Championship will be held in Launceston, Tasmania from 17 - 23 February. Victoria will be competing against teams 7 other teams from NSW, Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland, New Zealand, Western Australia and the ACT. Victoria is the defending champion and has won 7 out of the past 11 national titles. The 2013 team is committed to continuing this successful track record. We also congratulate our young gun, Nicholas Barro who has been selected in the U14 Vic Metro Team.
We also congratulate to all 4 of our current Junior Eagles U14 players Chelsie Ford, Hayley Ayton, Olivia Henry & Sharna Ayres, were selected to participate in the Southern Cross Challenge Vic Metro teams that played in Ballarat. The event was held on the 19th to 21st January, 2013 with the Vic Metro side playing against Vic Country, SA Metro & ACT teams organised by Basketball Victoria. The girls say it was an honour to be selected in the team and the opportunity to develop their basketball at such a high level was invaluable.
