Ben Allen Signs With Eagles for 2019

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce the latest addition to our Eagles Senior Team, with Ben Allen signing for the 2019 senior season!

Ben began his journey right here at Diamond Valley Basketball, playing his junior career through Greenhills Junior Domestic club and representative basketball for our Eagles program. The 31-year-old has had an incredible basketball career leading up to this signing, starting at Indiana University and then St Mary’s College in the US, playing alongsidethe likes of stars like Matthew Dellavedova. Adding to his resume are multiple stints for different NBL clubs over the years, such as the Townsville Crocs and more recently, the Sydney Kings.

The 6”11 big man has also established himself as a major threat in multiple SEABL seasons, last year averaging 15.4 points, 6 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the Canberra Gunners. As well as establishing himself as a key piece of the Diamond Valley Eagles in 2019, Ben is also a school teacher off the court.

“A Greenhills and Diamond Valley Junior, it is pleasing to have Ben return to the club where it all began, CEO Ross Wignell stated. He is a very good player and will complement our frontline, which provides Grant with more options going into the 2019 season. Equally as important, i get the feeling Ben will be a great role model to our juniors coming through our system”

Head Coach of the Senior Mens Eagles squad, Grant Wallace, is thrilled to have him back in DV colours for 2019:

“Ben has returned to Diamond Valley after a distinguished US College and Australian professional career to date. He is excited to be home and we are excited to have him home! His size, scoring and on court leadership will make us very competitive in 2019.”

Ben will be an ambassador for Greenhills Junior Domestic Club, building on the strong links to the DVBA juniors. In 2019, a new league is set to replace SEABL.
