Darcy Harding Returns To The Eagles In 2019

The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce the latest addition to our Senior Mens roster, with Darcy Harding returning for another season for the Eagles.

Darcy grew up in Moruya in country New South Wales, rising through the BNSW pathway and eventually being offered a spot at the Albury Wodonga Bandits in the former SEABL league.

In 2016, he made his way into the National Basketball League, accepting a development position with the Sydney Kings. Darcy thrived in the professional basketball environment and showed significant improvement in his game over the year.

Last year, Darcy joined our Eagles SEABL squad, averaging 12 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over 13 games played. His best coming in June last year, scoring 21 points, and netting 5 threes, shooting a stellar 8 of 13 from the field against Dandenong Rangers.

Head Coach of the Senior Mens Eagles squad, Grant Wallace, had this to say about the key re-signing for the 2019 season:

“We are excited to welcome back Darcy to the Eagles for another year! When he is fully healthy, we are certainly a better team on the floor, as he provides key leadership and perimeter scoring; both of which we will need in the upcoming season! He has a great attitude towards the game, with a desire to work hard and progress”

CEO, Ross Wignell, was also very optimistic about the future of the team in 2019:

“It is great to have Darcy back with us, as we endeavour to climb the ladder in 2019. With the way our team will look, Darcy will get to play away from the basket a little more; an area of the game we have spoken about and one that I believe he will excel in. I am looking forward to Darcy having a big season”

Darcy will be an ambassador for Diamond Creek Creekers Junior Domestic Club, building on the strong links to our DVBA juniors. In 2019, a new league is set to replace SEABL, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
