Amelia Smith Returns to the Nest
High work ethic and a fierce competitor are just a couple of traits that come to mind when you think of Amelia Smith. A Bulleen Boomers junior, Amelia gained valuable experience in the State Championship competition and also played in the SEABL competition for the Sandringham Sabres.
Smith returns to the nest after playing in the Diamond Valley Big V State Championship women’s team in the 2017 season where she averaged 8.8 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game and 1.6 assists per game. Her best performance for the season came in round 17 where she finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists against a very talented McKinnon Cougars.
“I am super excited and feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to represent Diamond Valley at SEABL level this coming season.” Smith said.
Head Coach Zoe Carr is excited to work with the athletic guard.
“Amelia is an experienced athlete with an amazing work ethic. It looks like her goal is to out work everyone on the floor and she has no problem putting her body on the line for the team. She is already requesting workouts and her desire to improve is impressive.”
Be sure to come and support Amelia and the rest of the SEABL Eagles in April when the season kicks off.
