Luke Liesegang Joins NBL1 Eagles Mens for 2019
Diamond Valley Basketball Association are pleased to announce that Luke Liesegang will be joining the NBL1 Eagles Mens team for the 2019 season.
Luke started playing basketball when he was 10 years old for the Wallan Panthers. His career at Wallan Panthers has been absolutely stellar to date, playing junior representative for Wallan, BIG V & more recently, playing in the Country Basketball League, an open age home and away representatie league held across 3 conferences in regional Victoria.
In Wallans Divison 2 BIG V side in 2018, Luke averaged 11.95ppg & 7.3 rebounds over 22 games across the season. In one particular game, he took over against the Warriors, scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds, shooting an incredible 7-10 from the 3 point line!
Eagles NBL1 Head Coach, Grant Wallace, talked about what Luke will bring to this team in 2019;
“After a stellar career with Wallan, Luke is making the transition up to the NBL1 Eagles team! He has a smart basketball brain, provides great length and an excellent touch in the Stretch 4 role.”
This year, our Eagles Senior Teams will be competing against some of the best clubs in Australia, with Basketball Victoria announcing the new NBL1 League in 2019. Luke will be an ambassador for St Mary’s Sharks Basketball, building on the strong connections between the Junior and Senior programs.
