6.10PM No Big Deal 44 def. by Uni hill 72

Low on numbers, No Big Deal had a tough first game in our Ultimate Civic League, going down by nearly 30 to Uni Hill. Once again, it was Josh Grubb who led all scorers as he poured in 33 points, while Evan Solikidis chipped in with a lazy 18. Justin Littlewood showed he will be one to watch this season, having 15 points of his own.

7.05PM Redbacks 41 def. by St. Mary’s 53

After one of the best second half performances you will see last week, Redbacks couldn’t find the form this week coming up short against the Sharks. Nathan Grimes was a handful in the post, leading Redbacks with 10 points before succumbing to some knee soreness. A poor shooting night by both teams, St Mary’s were able to get out in transition, gaining an advantage by scoring out of fast breaks. Mark Scherf threw down a monster jam down the middle of the lane, on his way to 19 points. He was supported by Daniel Girolami who had 14.

8.00PM Greenhills 60 def. The Splashers 48

Greenhills got their first win of 2018, with little doubt they are favourites to go back-to-back this season. Adam Moore led the way for Greenhills, with the savvy veteran dropping 22 on the younger opposition. Jeremy Datson and Jack McAughtry helped spread the floor, both knocking down three 3 pointers each. Coming off an easy win last week, the Splashers seemed to be troubled by the bigger bodies that knocked them out of finals last season. Christian Yammouni was the standout for the team, with 16 points.
