Check out the coaches previews leading into the big games against the Broncos this Sunday at the Nest.

Welcome back to the Eagles Nest for Week sixteen action and our ninth Sunday game of the season.

Today we welcome the Hume City Broncos to the Eagles Nest.

The Broncos have had a tough year with a number of close losses (six ten points or under) and with a little bit of luck going their way could have quite easily found themselves looking at finals action next month.

They are very well coached by dual Division One Championship Coach Ken EPPERSON and are led by their two imports Jermaine MAYBANK and Jamaal BROWN.

They also have exciting forwards Alex BOGART-KING and Elliot CARR, who are both athletic, efficient scorers around the basket and on the boards.

Local guards Shaun PRENDERGAST and Aaron CARLTON as well as Mweemba MALUMA round out their backcourt. We also welcome back former DV Junior Harun “Harry” KANSAK back to the nest for the first time after he left Diamond valley and joined Hume at the start of the season.

The Eagles are coming of yet another road Sunday game against the Werribee Devils last weekend.

Today will be a great test for your young Eagles against a team with multiple scoring threats, a huge front court, and a desire to finish the season on a positive note as they look to build for season 2014.

The Eagles will have to stick to their team rules and philosophies if they are to get a win today. As usual, defensive rebounding, transition defense and execution in the half court offensively will be areas the Eagles will need to excel in to get a win.

Hi and welcome to Diamond Valley for this crucial game against the Hume City Broncos.

Games don’t come much more important than this one for the Eagles.

The last three games of the season have become must wins for us to make the playoffs, and while it is not the position we really want to be in, our destiny is in our own hands.

We are up against a very talented and experienced roster that the Broncos have, with players such as Sharin Milner, Katrina Hibbert, Tarryn Macpherson, Jacinta Scott and Yinka Olorunnife. This group gives the Broncos real quality at both ends of the court, and as their record shows, they are a tough match up for any team in the league. The Broncos are coming off a rare loss last week to Ringwood, in which they lost top spot to the Hawks, and I am sure that they will have a real desire to get themselves back on the winning list again.

The Eagles are coming into this game off the back of our best win of the season last week, where we got the win against third place Mckinnon. That game, like todays was a must win and it was really pleasing to get the win in those circumstances. It was a real plus for us to have Carly Turner back on the roster, however it was a complete team defensive effort that enabled us to get the W. We will need to bring that type of game if we are to get a handle of the Broncos scorers. Our starters have been solid for us all year as have the girls coming off the bench, and so we will all need to be focused on our roles today to keep our finals hopes alive.
