Ross Wignell, the Manager of Basketball Operations for     Basketball Victoria,
has just accepted the position of CEO at the Diamond Valley Basketball Association.

In what has been a great catch for the DVBA, the appointment of Ross is viewed by the club as exactly what is required to take the association and all of it’s stakeholders into the next stage of development.

Ross has been at the forefront of basketball programs, player & coach development at Basketball Victoria for over 13 years with a background in playing at the elite level, coaching at the elite level and running many programs that have seen players and coaches given many opportunities from the grass roots to the highest level of the sport.

Ross brings to the club his great work ethic, organization, management and communication skills. With his years of experience and contacts, there are not too many things that Ross would have not come across in his time at Basketball Victoria.

Ross who lives locally, will join a growing team of dedicated basketball people who have all been working hard to keep the Association moving forward

On behalf of the entire Diamond Valley family, we would like to welcome Ross, his wife Cathy and new son Jordan into the club.

“From my time at Diamond Valley, I cannot remember a bigger appointment, it has come at a time where the club has to look to take each part of the program to a higher level of service and offer the Diamond Valley Community, members, players and coaches more opportunities through exposure to good management and a knowledge of the sport from the grass roots to the elite level “. – Alan McAughtry

“It is about giving the club and it’s members, in particularly the kids, every opportunity we can. From the child who walks into the sport for the first time to the person who volunteers to be team manager and the player / coaches trying to achieve their goals whatever level it may be, we have to strive to get the right people involved and good people involved who share the passion for the sport .For Ross just to consider coming to our club is a testament to all the people who have put in so much hard work over the years “ – Joe Crupi - Chairman of the JCC

“It is a really exciting time for the club to have someone of Ross’ experience come to Diamond Valley. This appointment is great for the DVBA, be that senior or junior players or referees. It is exciting times at the club and I am sure Ross will continue to grow the association “
